Pro Lash Tip #1

Lash Extension pink and white marble banner

Okay guys, I absolutely love this question.
Bottom Line, No, not at all!

This is one of the most popular tales regarding Lash extensions. I can’t stress the importance of doing your research and reading reviews on a lash technician before your appointment. Like anything, If done wrong, its not good for anyone. Eyelash extensions done right would never harm the health of your natural lashes. The amazing thing about it is when done right, your lashes should hold up as they were pre-lashed or even better. We get new clients coming in with remarkably similar stories looking for help. Their beautiful natural lashes have decreased by over 30% or they have shorter and stubbier lashes after they were removed. A popular mistake we see all the time; poor quality work and one eyelash extension glued onto multiple strands of their eyelashes. Not only does this cause discomfort resulting in rubbing of the eyes and tugging away at them, but it also causes them to fall out faster and in a group! This is a big no-no! Each extension should be attached meticulously and perfectly to each of your individual lash needs. When done right, you should feel at ease without discomfort and only staring at the reflection of your beautiful enhanced self!

A sign of a good skillful technician.

A sign of a well-qualified lash artist is someone who takes the time to see if you are a good candidate, takes sanitation seriously, works at a reputable establishment, and uses quality products.

I mean, who wouldn’t want to wake up bright-eyed and well-rested every morning. With eyelash extensions offering such amazing benefits to us throughout the day, It’s important to know the importance of the eyelash extension care. Here are some fool-proof ways for your lash longevity!

Clean & Daily Brushing

NOTE: Always wait 24 hours after your appointment before cleansing!

One of the more overlooked and easiest things to do is cleaning your lashes. Washing your lashes will extend the life of them by ridding your lash line of oils, dirt, and makeup buildup.

  1. Use oil-free and alcohol-free cleanser. cleansing waters like micellar are not safe for eyelash extensions. Products containing oils including cleansers, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizers, cleansing oils, sunscreen, and eye creams will break down lash glue causing your lash extensions to fall out prematurely. You can use eyewash specifically formulated for lash extensions or a regular face cleanser will do as well.

Clean lash extensions last longer – Use only oil-free cleansers!

  1. BE GENTLE while washing your lashes. Gently massage the cleanser with fingertip pressure or a lash brush. Refrain from pulling or tugging your lashes.
  2. Wash your lashes with water until the cleanser is removed.

We recommend washing your lashes daily. If you don’t wear makeup every 2-3 days.

Do not get your lashes wet for the first 4-6 hours. The glue needs time to cure. Refrain from the gym, pool, saunas, and facials.

Don’t sleep face down.

Sleeping with your face smushed into the pillow will risk pulling your lashes out and creating sparse and bald areas as they rub on a hard surface. Try sleeping on your side or back instead.

Ditch the Mascara!

Try to stay away from mascara. It leaves your lashes crusty and damaged. After your visit with us, you won’t need them anyway! In the event that you do, Be sure to stay away from waterproof mascara and any oil- or alcohol-based products. Washable mascara only!

Apply Eyeliner Sparingly

Like Mascara, try to refrain from using eyeliner. If you do, use liquid-based eyeliner as using brushes will tug and pull away you’re your lash line. Tight lining should also be avoided, as this disrupts the base of the extensions where the strength of the bond is most critical

Keep Cotton Pads away from your eyes

Another Eyelash Extension nemesis! Fibers in the cotton pad easily catch onto your fluffy lashes. No matter how careful you are odds are you will likely be spending your time untangling them from your lashes. Cotton swabs with precision tips make a much better tool!

Don’t try to remove lashes by yourself.

Picking and pulling on your lashes will damage your natural lashes.

Don’t miss your refills!

Schedule a fill every 2-3 weeks, to keep your lashes looking full. Fundamentally, taking care of your lash extensions comes down to being consistent with your eyelash refills. When you come in for your refill; first, we clean, freshen up, and perform maintenance on your existing lash extensions. Then, we add new extensions to get your lash line lush and back a full fluttery fresh look.
